Getting Started

Set up your GrowQR account and create your first short link in minutes

Overview

GrowQR is an AI-powered URL shortening, QR code generation, and marketing automation platform built for modern teams. Whether you're running paid campaigns, sharing links on social media, or tracking offline-to-online conversions with QR codes, GrowQR gives you a single workspace to create, manage, and analyze every link your brand publishes.

This guide walks you through the essentials — from creating your account to understanding the analytics behind your first short link.

What Problem It Solves

Marketing teams juggle dozens of tools to shorten URLs, build UTM strings, generate QR codes, and measure results. GrowQR consolidates all of that into one platform with AI-assisted features that save time and surface insights automatically. Instead of stitching together spreadsheets and free link shorteners, you get a purpose-built workspace where every click is tracked, every link is branded, and every campaign is measurable.

How It Works

GrowQR operates on a simple flow:

  1. Create — Generate a short link, QR code, or landing page from the dashboard or API.
  2. Distribute — Share the link across any channel: email, social, SMS, print, or ads.
  3. Track — Every interaction is recorded with device, location, referrer, and timestamp data.
  4. Optimize — Use real-time analytics and AI insights to improve click-through rates and conversions.

All resources live inside your workspace, organized by campaigns and tags so nothing gets lost.

Step-by-Step Usage

1. Create Your Account

Visit app.growqr.io/signup and sign up with your email or Google account. After verifying your email you'll land on the onboarding wizard, which helps you:

  • Set your default short domain
  • Invite team members (optional)
  • Connect a custom domain (optional)

2. Explore the Dashboard

The dashboard is divided into several key areas:

SectionPurpose
LinksCreate, search, and manage all short URLs (single or bulk)
QR CodesGenerate and customize QR codes tied to your links
CampaignsGroup links into campaigns for unified tracking
Landing PagesBuild AI-generated micro landing pages
AnalyticsView clicks, scans, geographic data, and device breakdowns
DomainsAdd and verify custom branded domains for your links
ConversionsTrack visitor journeys and conversion goals
API KeysGenerate keys for programmatic access
WebhooksConfigure real-time event notifications
  1. Click New Link in the top-right corner of the Links page.
  2. Paste your destination URL.
  3. Optionally set a custom alias (e.g., go.yourcompany.com/launch).
  4. Select a campaign if you want to group links for unified tracking.
  5. Choose a custom domain from the dropdown if you've configured one (see Domains).
  6. Add UTM parameters, tags, or an expiration date.
  7. Click Create Link.

Your new short link is ready to share. Copy it from the confirmation dialog or find it on the Links list. If you selected a custom domain, the link uses your branded URL automatically.

4. Understanding Analytics

Click any link row to open its detail view. You'll see:

  • Total clicks and unique visitors over a selectable date range
  • Top referrers — where your traffic originates
  • Devices & browsers — desktop vs. mobile breakdown
  • Geographic map — country and city-level click distribution
  • Click timeline — an hourly or daily chart of activity

Analytics update in near real-time, so you can monitor a campaign as it launches.

5. Next Steps

Once you're comfortable creating links and reading analytics, explore these areas to get more value from GrowQR:

  • Custom domains — Brand every link with your own domain via CNAME for higher trust and click-through rates (go.yourcompany.com/sale).
  • Campaigns — Group related links together and compare performance across channels.
  • Bulk link creation — Upload a CSV to create hundreds of links at once.
  • QR codes — Generate trackable QR codes with your brand colors and logo.
  • Landing pages — Use AI to spin up conversion-focused micro pages in seconds.
  • Conversions & funnels — Track visitor journeys from landing page visit through to purchase.
  • API & webhooks — Automate link creation and react to click events in real time.

Best Practices

  • Use custom aliases for any link you'll share publicly. Readable slugs (/spring-sale) outperform random strings.
  • Tag everything with consistent naming conventions so you can filter and report later.
  • Set expiration dates on time-sensitive links (event registrations, flash sales) to avoid stale destinations.
  • Enable HTTPS on custom domains to maintain visitor trust and comply with platform requirements.
  • Use UTM parameters from the start — retrofitting tracking later is painful and leaves gaps in your data.

Example Workflows

Product Launch

  1. Create a campaign called Q2 Product Launch.
  2. Generate short links for each channel: email, Twitter, LinkedIn, paid ads.
  3. Attach UTM parameters via the campaign's built-in UTM builder.
  4. Generate a branded QR code for the press kit PDF.
  5. Build an AI landing page as a pre-launch teaser.
  6. Monitor the campaign dashboard on launch day for real-time performance.

Weekly Newsletter

  1. Before each send, create short links for the top 3 articles.
  2. Tag them newsletter and the send date (e.g., 2026-03-05).
  3. After sending, open Analytics to compare click-through rates across articles.
  4. Feed insights back into the next issue's content selection.

Conference or Trade Show

  1. Create a landing page with your booth info and a lead-capture CTA.
  2. Generate a QR code pointing to that page.
  3. Print the QR code on banners, badges, and handouts.
  4. Track scans in real time from the mobile dashboard.
  5. Export the click data after the event for CRM import.
